The key thing to remember- it doesn't have to rhyme! Stick with "vowel rhymes "- instead of using "blue " and "true ", use "blue " and "lose ". Because the vowels sound the same, it'll give your music a more mature sound. A lot of the flowing part with just take time. Also, don't force yourself to write. Just jot down notes, otherwise it turns into a piece of poop.

Start with a poem and if it flows right use it as the chorus.. then make up something that leads up to the chorus, another part that explains what the chorus is about and then the end of the song with choruses between the other verses

The first and foremost key is inspiration- having an epiphany and having something to say. Other than that you might want to read and listen (anything and everything), or take a writing workshop or class.
