Question: I want some tips on writing song lyrics and music.?

I have been playing music for eight years, and me and my friend want to start writing songs together. we have tried a couple of times, and we got some pretty cool songs but i was hoping someone would have some tips for us i guess it will be christian rock music i guess it will be christian rock music

What genre is the music gonna be? I write lyrics also, and i post them on a site called writingforums.com I`m under Patrick007, gimme a shout if you join. Oh okay. Like a Joseph Arthur kind of thing? If you have ever heard him that is. Yeah i think you should just write a few songs like b-sides first then write one that you will use.
