Question: Writing a song for a band?

I've recently formed a band with a few friends and we started off by doing covers, after realising that we won't get far purely on covers we've started writing our own songs and found it harder that we first thought, can anyone help? with ideas, ways to get us started and maybe a few lyrics? we're kind've a pop- punk band (Blink- 182, Sum 41, Green Day) that sort of thing Thanks (: Yeh you all helped quite a bit thanks (: if anyone has any other ideas please email me: theunderclassheroes@hotmail.co.uk

I write songs, though I am not in a band, and what I do is I always write about my feelings, or things that inspire me. For instance, if I am sad, I will write a sad song, maybe about losing someone or something I really care about. I really don't know much about pop-punk, but I hope this helps! Good luck!

Ummm...dont hate haha but i write songs and i just came up with this... ive walked away leaving people broken ive regretted leaving words unspoken ive been touched by danger overcome by anger ive pulled my fist back only to hit myself ive realized in this world i have nothing else ive been labeled many things,a menace, a disgrace but noones got the desire to say it all to my face...thats all i got for now but if you like it you can contact me and ill try to come up with more. goodluck:D
