My first song was a prayer that I had prayed while going thru counseling. Since then I usually take a score of music that is already out there and change it to fit my style. Once it's changed and is different from the original, it becomes your song. You do need to work with ASCAP and others like CCLI on copywrite.

MOST SONGS BECOME HITS BECAUSE THE ARTIST EXPRESS HOW THEY FEEL ABOUT SOMETHING IN THERE SONG..I THINK YOU SHOULD JUST WRITE WHAT YOU FEEL..MAKE SURE IT COMES FROM YOUR HEART AND NOT YOUR HEAD..IT DONT HAVE TO RHYME IT JUST HAS TO MAKE SINCE AND RELAY A MESSAGE OF SOME SORT..

I have wrote many songs. When i am going to right a song i never know what i am going to wright about. I begin to play a few simple chords and make them blend and sound they they belong to each other. By the way im playing acoustic guitar. Then i begin to think about what kind of modd the simple chords give off. then from there i take an experiance and just right a song about what happened, For example i recently wrote a song about this girl named taylor. We were together for almost a year. I love her with all my heart. So i wrote a song about how i will always love her and she will always have a piece of my heart.
