I tend to start from scratch. from the very beginning & see where the chorus goes. it tends to come to me when i'm not at my instrument, so i sing it for a bit, before going to my instrument. i believe your lyrics should come out at the same time as your melody. cuz you know sometimes you're singing a word & it goes in a weird direction or something? i think the words should match the tone or sound. so it's pretty hard to make a song & add the lyrics in later (ie. love story theme's lyrics) cuz they tend not to match. whatever you do, make sure you can record it easily (tape recorder or paper) or you'll lose precious stuff. |
