Question: Just asked...i need some song writing tips?

So i've been playing guitar for a little over 7- 8 months and i feel like i'm pretty good, and i have wanted to write songs from the beginning. the only thing is that i dont really know where to start. i have ideas for lyrics and that stuff. how can i expand on those ideas. how do i get a melody or the music...any tips on that, i'm looking for a blink- 182 type song or angels and airwaves

I havent listened to blink-182...yet! i so want to though. haha..anyways...most good songs come from the heart or personal experiences. I can't tell you what exactly to write..but i'm sure it will come to you. good luck! hope this helped... :)

I find it best to listen to interviews with famous musicians about how they write songs. Many can be found on youtube. The leader singer of Nirvana Kurt Cobain has some good interviews on youtube. So does Radiohead's singer Tom Yorke. their interviews provide amazing insight and depth and when you learn, you want to learn from the best. good luck
